Te Hou Farms

Ngā Wairiki Ngāti Apa Developments Limited has retained a two third interest in Te Hou farms.  This farm has been in operation since the Rūnanga Group negotiated the purchase of this farm in 2014, and set up the limited partnership with Ātihau Whanganui Incorporation and Waitatapia Station Limited. 

This farm has come through six years of development.  It is an intensive and diversified agribusiness engaged in cropping, dairy, lamb finishing and beef. 

The farm is now diversifying further into blueberries grown in tunnel houses.  The farm is 1,224 hectares, and over half of it is now under irrigation.  The land is a mixture of alluvial river soils and sand country.  Sand country is particularly productive under irrigation.
